Marcelle Hulme Obituary
Marcelle Lucie Hulme of Tomkins Cove, NY, formerly of Garnerville passed away December 15, 2012 at the age of 94. She was born August 21, 1918 in Angers, France to Gustave and Adele (Lombaert) Marissal. The family emigrated to the United States in 1930 and settled in Garnerville in 1933. After attending Haverstraw High School she worked at the Garnerville Factory. In 1935 she was employed at the Letchworth Village Developmental Center as an occupational therapist and then as a cottage attendant. She retired in 1973 as supervisor of cottages. She was a founding member of the S.W. Johnson SFE #1 Ladies Auxillary. She is predeceased by her beloved husband of 54 years, J. Harold Hulme, and her brothers Roger and Robert. She leaves her devoted daughters, Marcelle Bernadette Reilly and husband Kevin of New Jersey, Joan Kapusinsky and husband Gerald of Haverstraw, and Patricia Evans and husband Herbert of Florida. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Shawn (Chandra) Kapusinsky, Kyle (Tami) Kapusinsky, Jennifer (James) Jacobs, Kevin (Janaki) Reilly Jr., Evan Evans and Patrick Evans and great-grandchildren, Carly, Jamie, Logan, Ryan, Collin, Justin, Ashley, Bodhi, Aidan and Ciaran. Family will receive friends Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the George M. Holt Funeral Home. Marcelle's Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at 10:00 AM at St Peter's Church, Broadway, Haverstraw, NY Interment will follow at St Peter's Cemetery, Haverstraw. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to S.W. Johnson Steam Fire Co. #1, Bridge St. Garnerville, NY 10923 or to a charity of your choice.
