EDWIN GALLAGHER Obituary

GALLAGHER, EDWIN B. (Ed), JR. Ed Gallagher, beloved son of Shirley Gallagher and the late Edwin B. Gallagher, passed away on May 4, 2005, in New Rochelle. Ed was born in Manhattan on April 6, 1957 and raised in North White Plains. Ed is survived by his mother, Shirley, of White Plains, NY, his sisters, Galla, of Palm Beach, FL and Pati and Steve Severson of Castle Creek, NY, his nephew, Chris, of Amherst, NY, and his best friend, Lita Gulla, of Jersey City, NJ. Ed was a graduate of Valhalla High School and the University of Pittsburgh, where he received a degree in Journalism. Ed was a published author, public speaker, former host of "Mr. Ed's Corral" on Westchester Cable TV, founder of Alive to Thrive, a diligent spokesman for the disabled, and advocate for the dignity and rights of all people. Ed inspired a positive outlook on life and brought a constant source of pride to his family. Ed dedicated the last 20 years of his life to suicide prevention and self-esteem presentations throughout the area. He touched more lives in 20 years than many do in a lifetime.
