Guido M. Lometti Obituary
Guido M. Lometti

Rye - Guido M. Lometti died on November 6, 2018. He was 100 years old. Born in the Bronx to Italian immigrants Edgardo Lometti and Armida Mennucci, Guy attended Fordham Prep (1936) and Fordham College (1939), where he ran track and won several medals. He continued his education at Columbia Dental School (1943).

He served in the US Navy during World War II, obtaining the rank of Lieutenant Commander, and was active in the reserves for 20 years. He met his future wife Mary Pellitier, a Navy Nurse, at the Naval Training Station in Farragut, Idaho.

They were married for 54 years and raised 5 children before she passed away in 1998. A resident of Crestwood and a member of Annunciation parish for over 60 years, he moved to Rye, New York in 2016. Guy always had an easy smile and a gentle way about him. He impressed upon his children the simple values of hard work and kindness and the more complex importance of blending rationality with a sense of wonder. He taught us all the magic of music, dancing and nature. He is predeceased by his daughter Carol and survived by his sons Guy, Bill and Chris, his daughter Mary Margaret, and his beloved 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He will be waked at Fred H. McGrath & Son Funeral Home in Bronxville on Friday, November 9th from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, November 10th at 10 AM at Annunciation Church in Crestwood.
