Bohlander, Richard G.
Richard G. Bohlander, of Odenton, MD, formerly of Tappan, NY, passed away unexpectedly on June 29, 2012 at the age of 62. He was born July 29, 1949 to George and Ruth Bohlander and graduated from Tappan Zee High School in Orangeburg, NY. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1976 to 1991 with tours in Vietnam and Germany. He was honorably discharged in 1991.
Richard is survived by his sister, Cheryl Russo and her husband Joe of Garnerville; his sister, Karen Banyo and her husband John of Tuxedo; brother-in-law, Robert Alonso of Stony Point; niece, Jennifer Quinn and her husband Brendan of Stony Point; nephew, Christopher Russo of Nanuet; niece, Victoria Alonso and nephew, Robert (Robbie) Alonso Jr. of Stony Point; and his grandniece, Alexa Quinn. He was predeceased by his parents, George and Ruth Bohlander; and his sister, Janet Alonso, who died at the World Trade Center on Sept. 11.
Richard's calling hours will be Thursday from 4-7 pm at the T.J. McGowan Sons Funeral Home, Garnerville. Richard's funeral service will be celebrated on Friday at 10 am in the chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Peter Brayda officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow at the FW Loescher Veterans Cemetery, New Hempstead, N.Y. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are being requested to the Wounded Warrior Program, 370 7th Ave., Suite 1802, N.Y., N.Y. 10001 in Richard's memory.
