John Thomas Ardizone Sr., 73, of Pearl River, NY, formerly of River Vale, NJ, passed away on Monday, July 17, 2017. He was born in the Bronx, NY to Armand and Margaret Ardizone. Beloved husband of Patricia Ardizone (nee Donovan). Devoted father of John Thomas Ardizone, Jr. and his wife Elizabeth; and Elizabeth Wanvig and her husband Larry. Dear brother of James Ardizone and his wife Lynne, Barbara Lally and her husband Donald, Richard Ardizone and his wife Nancy, and Margaret Girard. Loving grandfather of Timothy, Kayla and John Eric. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Before retiring, John was Chief of Operations for the N.Y.C. Department of Sanitation. He was a member of The DSNY Emerald Society, Ancient Order of Hibernians, Holy Name Society and the American Legion. John loved spending time at his second home in Cape Cod, clamming with his twin brother and enjoying the love and friendship of his family and friends. The family will receive their relatives and friends at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, NJ on Thursday, July 20 from 4-9PM. The Funeral Mass celebrating John's life and faith will be held at St. Aedan's R.C. Church, Pearl River, NY on Friday, July 21 at 10AM.
