Linda Bush Obituary

BUSH, LINDA SUE MILES, 48, of Louisville, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2013 with her family by her side after a courageous battle with breast cancer.

She was a loving wife, mother, daughter and sister. She was employed as a scheduling manager at Vivid Impact Corp., a longtime member of Long Run Baptist Church and recently attended Southeast Christian Church.

Linda is survived by her devoted husband of 30 years, Darryll Wayne "Duke" Bush; their children, Corey James Bush (Traci), and Brittney Marie Bush; parents, Tom and Judy Miles; sisters, Robin Carroll (Scott) and Wendy Whitehead (Roger); grandmother, Beatrice Ford; several aunts and uncles including her aunt, Sue Riddle (who was her namesake); and a host of nieces, nephews and friends who will miss her very much.

Linda was a feisty, fun, loyal and loving person who will be missed by all that knew her because as Linda would say "its all about me".

Her funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday July 20, 2013 at Ratterman Funeral Home 12900 Shelbyville Rd. with burial in Historic Middletown Cemetery to follow. Visitation will be 1 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to any Breast Cancer Research Association in lieu of flowers.

Linda's family would like to give special thanks to the CBC group at Baptist East and to the James Graham Brown Cancer Center for all of the wonderful care they provided.

Growing up in Eastwood was kinda like Mayberry. Going to the ball park, recreation center, and church were the places to be and have fun with family and friends. Tom and Judy's house was always there too. Some of the best times of my youth was spent with Robin, Linda, and Wendy. I know how dear Linda was and how brave and dignified she fought during her illness. Linda was so proud of her family. She and Duke raised two beautiful, kind, and caring kids. One only has to be around Corey and Brittney a few minutes to know what a wonderful mother Linda was. Heaven is rejoicing that Linda is home and her radiance will bring an more brillant glow to that eternal place. Love to all the family. Shelia

Linda loved and cared about people without hesitation. Her easy laugh and beautiful smile made everything ok. So many happy memories of playing ball at Eastwood, exercising at Tom Sawyer, walking with Linda and Judy, Glendale days, Whims and Trims and countless other precious times with Linda. Love you so very much.
Rest in Peace dear friend.

I tell everyone that Linda "met you where you were". I never felt I had to be more than I was to be loved and accepted completely by her. She was an angel on earth and the world is better for having had her in it. Because of the precious care she was given by her family, Linda was able to live a full life this past year. She did the things she loved to do. Spend time with her family, go out to dinner, attend the Glendale festival (so she could buy her favorite soaps and candles) and be part of her children's graduations from high school and college. I posted a picture of Linda, Corey & Brittney from her parents 50th wedding anniversary party. She is beaming with happiness as she holds her children close. This is the way I will remember her.
Love always
Di

Found out last night that one of my childhood friends had passed away. She had battled brain cancer for quite sometime. Many memories passed through my mind today of summers past, while riding a lawn mower for several hours. I was taken back to a simpler time when the worst of your worries was hoping not to get caught sneaking home too late on a summers night after the ball games in Eastwood. After being on this earth a while, you begin to look back at life so differently and some us get caught up in this worldly rat race so much so that we forget to notice the small things in life that has made a difference in who we are today. Take some time out of your busy schedule to reconnect with these childhood friends, before it's too late. Each day is only a gift and is never guaranteed. Try to find that place that was once in your childhood's mind. That "Rosebud" moment if you will. My heart goes out to the Miles family and close friends. May god be with you during this trying time.
