SCHEVETTO, JOHN P., 92, of Louisville passed away Sunday August 25, 2013.
He was a landscape contractor and a lifetime member of the Louisville Nursery Association. John was a former president of Louisville Nurserymen's Association 1965-66 and former president of Kentucky Nursery Association 1966-67. He was an honorary member of Kentucky Nurserymen's Association, a World War II Army veteran attached to the 17th General Hospital in North Africa and Naples, Italy, and a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. His family considered him a kind and honest man who loved animals.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Dorothy "Dot" Neichter Schevetto; his daughter, Lisa Thompson (Rodney); grandson Colton Thompson; his brothers, Phillip A. Schevetto and Gene V. Schevetto of Chandler, OK; and his sister, Mary Elizabeth Goodson.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church 7813 Shelbyville Road with interment in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, 2 - 8 p.m. at Ratterman Funeral Home 3711 Lexington Road, in "St. Matthews." Memorial contributions are suggested to the Animal Care Society 12207 Westport Road Louisville, KY, 40245.
