75, entered into rest on July 17, 2014.

He was born on December 14, 1938, in Huntingburg, IN to Pearl and Katherine Maxey.

Charles served in the United States Army and then went on to serve as an Indiana State Trooper for 33 years. He retired from the State Police but didn't leave the justice system completely. He served Washington County as Public Defender, Probation Officer and worked for the Prosecutor's Office. He also served in the Harrison County Circuit Court. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and a very active member at the Palmyra United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers and one sister.

He is survived by his loving wife, Katherine Maxey; his children, Cheryl Maxey of Livonia, Charles A. Maxey of Salem, Kevin L. Maxey of Salem, and Winnie Ferree of Lanesville. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

The visitation will be on July 19, 2014 at Love Funeral Home from 1-8 p.m. and July 20, 2014 from 12- 2:30 p.m. The funeral will take place at Palmyra United Methodist Church on July 20, 2014 at 3 p.m. with interment at Galena Cemetery.
