Mary Agnes Whitworth Ludwig

LUDWIG, MARY AGNES WHITWORTH, 60, passed away Saturday, January 14, 2012, after losing her battle with colon cancer.

She was a graduate of Southern High School (1969), the University of Kentucky (1973), and the University of Louisville (1998). A national award winning Family and Consumer Sciences teacher, Mary taught parenting and fashion and interior design at the Westport Teenage Parent Program for 17 years.

Mary enjoyed reading, gardening, sewing, UK games, and spending time with her family, friends, and Bishons Rudy and Gigi. She was a member of Crescent Hill Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clark Whitworth and Clifford and Wilma Stoner.

Mary is survived by her husband, Charles W. Ludwig Sr.; six stepchildren, Charles Jr., Michael (Marissa), Bryan, Stephan (Amanda), Alan, and Sarah; two grandchildren; a brother, Hugh Whitworth (Tammy); two nephews, Jeremy (Tina) and David; and a great-niece, Sarah.

The family is appreciative of the care provided by the Norton Brownsboro Oncology staff, Dr. Janell Seeger, the Norton Brownsboro Hospital staff, and the Hosparus of Louisville staff.

A Celebration of Life memorial service will be conducted at 6 p.m. Friday January 20, 2012 at Crescent Hill Baptist Church, 2800 Frankfort Ave.

Cremation was chosen with her ashes to be placed at the Grinstead Columbarium in Cave Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Hosparus of Louisville, Crescent Hill Baptist Church, or the Kentucky Humane Society.
