Mary Theresa Osborne Ballard

BARDSTOWN BALLARD, MARY THERESA OSBORNE, 89, longtime resident of Nelson County, near Holy Cross, passed away Sunday afternoon, January 6, 2008, at Hospice & Palliative Care of Louisville's In-Patient Unit at Norton Medical Pavilion. Mrs. Ballard was born November 22, 1918, in Washington County, KY, near Maker's Mark Distillery, to the late Henry Parker Osborne and Mary Frances Della (Mudd) Osborne. She was a 1937 graduate of Saint Augustine High School, in Lebanon, KY and a long time member of Holy Cross Church, in Holy Cross, KY. Mrs. Ballard was a bookkeeper for her husband's farming and lumber business, for over thirty years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fabian Paschal Ballard, in 1988; and by her daughter, Mary Elizabeth Ballard, in 1962. Mrs. Ballard is survived by her 11 children, J. Charles Ballard (Pat), of Louisville, Margaret Futrell (Roger), of Frankfort, Bernadette Stansbury (Charles), of Morehead, Joann Hawkins (Gary), of Dallas, TX, Fabian Ballard (Rose Mary), of Loretto, Lawrence Ballard (Patty), of Bardstown, Angela Cox (Joe), of Sugar Land, TX, Rose Mary Houck, of Bloomfield, Pauline Blanford (Michael), of Waverly, OH, Ann Marie Isaacs (Tim), of Munfordville and Elizabeth Owens (Greg), of Frankfort; 29 grandchildren; and 12 great- grandchildren. Her funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Holy Cross, KY, with burial to follow in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be 11 a.m. - 9 p.m. Tuesday at Mattingly Funeral Home, in Loretto, KY. While flowers are welcome, memorial gifts may be made in Mrs. Ballard's honor to the Holy Cross Cemetery Trust Fund in c/o Mattingly Funeral Home.
