Max Zufall

NEW ALBANY - Zufall, Max, 97, passed away Wednesday June 26, 2013 at Floyd Memorial Hospital. Max was born in New Albany and was an Air Force Veteran of World War II where he served as a B17 Pilot and was shot down and was a prisoner of war for a year. He was a Squadron Commander in the reserve and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. Max was a retired Florist from the old Rasmussen Florist after 42 years of service. He was a Flight Instructor for Haps Aeriel Enterprises for over 20 years and was a member of the Lions Club and Central Christian Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret L. Zufall.

Survivors include, his son, Michael Zufall (Jane); his daughter, Martha "Marty" Crane (Phil Guerin); and two granddaughters, Elana Crane (George) and Teresa Crane.

A funeral service celebrating Max's life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Oak Street Chapel of Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville (1846 E. Oak St.) with burial in Walnut Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Friday.
