Montrose D. "Monty" Justice Jr.

JUSTICE, MONTROSE D. "MONTY," JR., 84, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 6, 2012.

After a courageous fight against pancreatic cancer, his last words were "I love you".

Monty graduated from Male High School then served in the US Navy during World War II, later graduating from the University of Louisville. He was a member of Hurstbourne Baptist Church where he coached Upward Basketball and sang in the choir. He was an award-winning member of the Louisville Rose Society and was the founder of Monty's Plant Food Company. He was currently serving on the Edge Outreach Board. And he was a coach of numerous sports for 61 years.

His family left to cherish his memory includes his loving wife of 49 years Becky; daughters, Debbie Stephens (Dennis), and Jennifer Merrick (Matt); three grandchildren, Joshua, Sarah and Matty; plus a loving extended family and a host of friends that feel like family.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday at Pearson's Funeral Home, 149 Breckenridge Lane, Louisville. Funeral Service will take place at 2pm Saturday at Hurstbourne Baptist Church, 8800 Shelbyville Road, Louisville. Burial in Cave Hill Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Edge Outreach, Hurstbourne Baptist Church, Crescent Hill Baptist Church, or the Louisville Rose Society.
