Ronald Gene "Scoop" Robertson

ROBERTSON, RONALD GENE "SCOOP," 72, of Louisville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 15, 2014, joining his bride Beverly A. Robertson in Heaven on the date of their 51st wedding anniversary. Ron was a choir member at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Shelbyville, KY. Prior to retirement, Ron was a member of the Rotary club and a Kentucky Colonel. Ron was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity at Purdue University where he earned his bachelors degree in economics. He then completed his master's degree at Michigan State University. In his early years after college, Ron was a professor at IUPUI where he taught Economics. For the bulk of his professional career, Ron was a mortgage banker and vice president of the former Liberty National Bank. He enjoyed assisting first-time buyers achieve their dream of becoming home owners.

He is survived by three children, Mike Robertson (Beth), Beth Wagner (Robert), and Christy Notareschi (Sean); grandchildren, Andrew Wagner, Skyler Robertson, John-Martin Wagner, Blake Robertson, Mia Notareschi, and Alexis Notareschi.

Ron is also survived by his faithful companions, his dogs, B.G. and Spencer.

His visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Ratterman Funeral Home, 3711 Lexington Road in St. Matthews. A private burial will be in Cave Hill Cemetery.

Memorial gifts in Ron's memory may be made to G.R.R.A.N.D. (Golden Retriever Rescue and Adoption of Needy Dogs) or Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Shelbyville, KY.
