Hendrix, Ruth Anne,
71, of St. Matthews passed away quietly at home on July 22, 2017.
A celebration of her life will be held in the chapel of Sacred Heart Academy in Louisville on Saturday, September 30, at 1:00.
Ruth earned a Master's Degree in Mathematics from the University of Louisville. She taught math for over 20 years at Sacred Heart Academy, where she chaired the math department and taught courses in the International Baccalaureate Program.
She is predeceased by her husband, John Burton Harter; parents, John Gilbert Hendrix and Mary Kathleen Hendrix; and nephew, Andrew Stephen Hendrix. She is survived by her brother, Robert A. Hendrix, M.D. and his wife,
Karen E. Bessey of Rocky Mount, N.C.; niece Erika K. Hendrix of Brooklyn, NY; nephew Allan Scott Hendrix of San Francisco; and uncle, Benjamin C. Stigall, M.D. of Danville KY. Ruth loved teaching and her pets, but she particularly loved the students and faculty at Sacred Heart, who she considered to be her family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ruth Anne Hendrix Scholarship Fund at Sacred Heart Academy, 3175 Lexington Road, Louisville, KY 40206.
