Samuel Wheeler Lyverse

LYVERSE, SAMUEL WHEELER, 85, died Sunday March 30, 2008 at Baptist Hospital East. Born in Louisville, he was a life long member of Crescent Hill Baptist Church. After serving in the air force he graduated from the University of Louisville in 1949. He then began his accounting career with Yeager and Ford. He was a retired partner with Price Waterhouse Coopers, CPA. His career included council member of the AICPA from 1964-5 followed by terms as president of the Kentucky Society of CPAs and of the State Board of Accountancy. He is predeceased by his parents, Sam and Elizabeth Lyverse. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Jean Young Lyverse; four daughters, Jenny Smith and husband Harold, Sue Lepore and husband Ray, Mary Lyverse and Laura Lyverse and husband Marc Lanctot; and by five grandchildren, Joanna and Rebecca Lepore and Owen, Hanna and Sam Smith. He is also survived by his brother, Carroll R. Lyverse, wife Carolyn, and their children, Steve and Mark Lyverse and Melinda Schmitt and their families. Remembrances: Mr. Lyverse had a particular interest in the ministry of One Voice, the youth choir of Christ Church United Methodist (4614 Brownsboro Rd., 40207) and the Audio Studio for the Reading Impaired (11403 Park Rd., 40223). A memorial service will be announced at a future date.
