Mildred F. Render

RENDER, MILDRED F., 77, of Louisville, passed away Wednesday, April 16, 2008, at Jewish Hospital. Mildred was born October 20, 1930, in Ohio County, KY, to the late Roy T. Render and Grace S. Warren. Serving as an administrative assistant to the CEO of Jewish Hospital, her 60 years of service spanned the tenure of four hospital presidents including Otis Wheeler, Gerald Wagner, Hank Wagner and Bob Shircliff. She also worked closely with the Board of Trustees. Mildred was a 33-year member of St. Matthews Baptist Church, where she was extremely active, as evidenced by her involvement throughout the years. She was a member of the Sanctuary Choir and Joyful Sounds Senior Choir and served as the church clerk, until her retirement, when she was honored with the title of Church Clerk Emeritus. She also devoted time as music librarian for the music ministry, media center volunteer, "At the Foot of the Cross" prayer group and the Friendship Sunday School Class. She is survived by her brother, Carl R. Render Sr. (Geraldine); her sister, Sue Render Koerber (Kenneth), of League City, TX; nieces and nephews, Carl R. Render Jr. (Sharon), Deborah Render Smith (Mark) and Jon Koerber (Beth), Mark Koerber (Elva) and Scott Koerber (Lana), all of League City, TX; nine great-nieces; and one great-nephew. Her funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Matthews Baptist Church, 3515 Grandview Avenue, with entombment to follow in Resthaven Mausoleum. Visitation will be held 3-8 p.m. Friday at Ratterman Funeral Home, 3711 Lexington Road, and after 10 a.m. Saturday at the church. Memorials may be made to Jewish Hospital and St. Mary's Foundation or to St. Matthews Baptist Church.
