Charles R. Hoffman M.D.

HOFFMAN, CHARLES R., MD, 90, of Louisville, passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2008. He was a Navy Veteran of World War II and a 1941 graduate of the University of Louisville School of Medicine and practiced Orthopedic Surgery until his retirement in 1982. He was a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. He was an accomplished violinist and a avid fisherman where he was a also a member of the Juniper Club and Kamp Kaintuck. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Elise Hoffman; son, Russell Hoffman MD (Linda); daughter, LuAnn Hoffman Weakley (Sam); grandchildren, Lisa Clark (Jeremy), Matthew Hoffman (Meg), Laura McQuaig and Justin McQuaig; great-grandchildren, Mariah Clark and Elijah Clark; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Matthews Baptist Church, 3515 Grandview Ave. Visitation will be held at Pearson's, 149 Breckenridge Lane on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the University of Louisville School of Medicine.
