Michael Padon

PADON, MICHAEL, 61, of Louisville, passed away on Monday, November 20, 2006. He was born in Lexington, KY, to William and Naomi Padon, graduated from Waggener Traditional High School and Transylvania University, completed graduate work at the University of Kentucky, served in the Army National Guard 100th Division at Fort Knox, and was appointed as Kentucky's former Deputy Commissioner for Economic Development for governors Carroll and Brown. He received the honorary title of Kentucky Colonel, held membership with the Lions Club and Crescent Hill Baptist Church and was a retired realtor. He was preceded in death by his father, William Padon. Survivors include his mother, Naomi Padon-Parrish (Jimmy); son, Michael Todd Padon; brother, Gregory Padon (Kim); friend and companion that cared for him, Jo ellen Haney; and other family members and close friends. A celebration of his life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Crescent Hill Baptist Church at 2800 Frankfort Ave., with internment to follow at Cave Hill Cemetery. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Friday at Arch L. Heady-Cralle Funeral Home, 2428 Frankfort Ave. Expressions are requested to the memorial fund of his church.
