Benjamin Turner LaMaster Sr.

LaMASTER, BENJAMIN TURNER SR., 82, of Crescent Hill, went to his heavenly father on Sunday, April 29, 2007, surrounded by his family. He was a Air Force veteran of World War II. He graduated from Centre College, and University of Louisville Speed School, and made his professional career at DuPont, where he retired after 30 years of service. He was a past president of the Louisville Boat Club, where he has been a member for over 60 years. He was a very active member of Crescent Hill Baptist Church, where he had served as a Sunday School teacher, deacon and on many committees. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Shirley Suhr La Master; his brother, William H. La Master; his children, Kathy Callaghan (Michael), B. Turner La Master Jr. (Gina), of Birmingham, AL, Franklin T. La Master (Cynthia), of Chapel Hill, NC and Anne La Master; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service to celebrate Ben's life will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Crescent Hill Baptist Church, 2800 Frankfort Ave. Visitation will be held 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Arch L. Heady-Cralle Funeral Home, 2428 Frankfort Ave. Expressions are requested to memorial fund of his church.
