David McAtee Obituary
Louisville - 53, passed away on June 1, 2020. He was the owner of Ya Ya's Barbeque. He is survived by his mother Odessa McAtee Riley; his sisters, Emma Jean Douglas (Edward), Delores McAtee, Patricia O'Bannon, and Addie McAtee; his brothers, Donnie McAtee and Jamie McAtee. Public viewing (pass through only) will be held 1 p.m. - 8 p. m. Friday at St. Stephen Baptist Church, 1018 S. 15th St. Funeral will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Canaan Christian Church, 2840 Hikes Lane with interment in Green Meadows Cemetery. Deep condolences to the family and friends of David McAtee and to the West Louisville community. While returning home, I was honored to have visited YaYa's late last saturday night to pay my respects to the man I had read about last Friday afternoon. And I was thankful for the delicious BBQ and warm welcome. I will strive to remember him and his story as his is one of both inspiration & love and tragedy & loss. A story and life that deserves remembering.
Blessings and peace to you, may hope and goodness spring from loss and to Mr McAtee, may you rest in peace.
