Billie Trafton Hopkins Obituary
Hopkins, Billie Trafton,

passed away peacefully on September 15, 2017 after battling a long illness.

Bill grew up in Campbellsburg, KY, and moved to Louisville, KY, after completing his service to our country during the Vietnam War. Since retiring from his construction business, Bill spent time fishing at Nolin Lake and the waters around Melbourne Beach, FL.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, William Isaac Hopkins and Aleene (Dootsey) Sanders Hopkins.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Kathey; his sister, Deanne Foree; his niece, Becky Foree Lewis; his step-daughters, Jessica Schickli Erickson (John) and Danelle Schickli (Virgil); his brother-in-law, David Bradshaw; and his sisters-in-law, Joan Gahm and Linn Bradshaw. He will be missed by his precious grandchildren, Sophie and Ian Erickson as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Bill was known as Hop to his many friends and co-workers. He was a successful general contractor and was known as the guy who could fix anything. He was a great story teller who had an infectious sense of humor. He will be sorely missed by all that knew him.

A Celebration of Bill's Life will be held in the Spring when the red buds are in bloom.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to Friends for Michael Scholarship Fund at friendsformichael.org.
