Billy Cowsert

Louisville - Billy J. Cowsert, Sr., age 73 passed away on Saturday May, 12, 2018 at Sts. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital. Billy was born in Dexter Missouri to Charles and Pearl (Pitcher) Cowsert. Mr. Cowsert is a Veteran of the Vietnam War and served eight years in the Army. He earned several medals including The Purple Heart, Vietnam Campaign Medal with 60 Device, Bronze Star and Good Conduct Medal.

He worked for Philip Morris for 27 years. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was an outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, camping and riding motorcycles. Billy was also a huge fan of the Kentucky Wildcats.

Billy is preceded in death by his parents Charles and Pearl, two brothers Leon and Jimmy, two sisters Judy and Linda and a brother in law Linus Kromenacker.

Survivors include his wife of 30 years Debora, four children Billy Cowsert, Jr. (Jennifer), Angela Orem (Brian), JJ Saylor (Theresa) and Tommy Saylor; a brother Charles; a sister Alice; brother in law Dennis Kromenacker (Jessica) and Sandy Kromenacker (Karen). He also has eight grandchildren; Cody, Trent, Krista, Autumn, Justus, Jessica, Sean and Dillon and one great-grandchild, Jaxon.

A celebration of Life for Billy will be Thursday, May 17, 2018 at 10:00 AM at advantage Funeral Home - Hardy Chapel with burial to follow at KVC Cemetery in Radcliff, KY. Visitation will be Wednesday May 16, 2018 from 12:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home, 10907 Dixie Highway.
