Dr DeWeese was my doctor for a surgery that I had. He was kind and soft spoken. One of the best doctors that I have ever had. R.I.P., Dr DeWeese. I worked at Methodist Evangelical Hospital where I saw him a lot.

Dr. Bob DeWeese was a godsend to many nurses and staff at the various Louisville hospitals. I had the pleasure of making rounds with him on his surgical patients. He was always professional in his teaching, questioning and explanations. The most precious memory was how he supported me when my first oncology patient died. He sat me down after one of those huge bear hugs and told me it would be alright to cry and miss her. She was very young, and he knew how much it would and had affected me as a nurse. He was one of the reasons , I chose oncology nursing as my specialty. I followed him during his political career and was proud when I could go hear him present something in the community or Frankfort. Another memory was when I ran into him by chance, he knew my name and asked about my daughter. This was the first time he introduced me to his son, the doctor, he said with that playful smile. He will be so missed! Prayers and many thoughts going to his family and friends. RIP Dr. D.
