Brumback Sr., Charles F.,

age 97, returned to his Heavenly Father Saturday September 30 at the Masonic Home. He was born on May 13, 1920 in Franklin Co., Ky. to the late Raymond and Ivory (Yount) Brumback.

He was preceded in death by his siblings: James, Elmer, Henrietta, Nannie B, Mary Allen, Louise and Margaret. He attended Dupont Manual High School. He served in the US Navy in the South Pacific and North Atlantic during WWII. He had been an active member of Clifton Baptist Church since 1939. He was a deacon for many years and loved serving His God wherever needed and called.

Charles, a production foreman, worked and retired from BF Goodrich. He enjoyed the company bowling league so much he continued bowling long after his retirement a total of 56 years. He had been a member of the Highland Park Masonic Lodge for over 60 years where he served as the chaplain for years. He volunteered many years at the St. John's Day League Picnic on the campus of the Masonic Home. Charles also was a former Boy Scout Master of Troop 327 and mentored many troop members to become Eagle Scout under his leadership.

He was married to Virgie Lee Taylor for 48 years and is survived by the former Helen Epperson Houk to whom he was married for 25 years.He is also survived by two children Charles F. Brumback, Jr and Carolyn Lee Hoskins (Ralph), children by marriage Pat Houk (Gloria) and Vicki Blount (Wayne) He has 7 surviving grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Charles loved reminiscing and sharing a hot cup of coffee with friends. He will always be remembered for his warm smile, sense of humor, and his love and devotion to his family and friends, He will be missed by all.

Donations may be given to Masonic Home of Ky or donor choice in lieu of flowers.

Funeral service for Mr. Brumback will be 11:00 am,Wednesday at Ratterman Brothers 3711 Lexington Rd. with entombment in Louisville Memorial Gardens East.

Visitation will be from 3:00 to 8:00 pm Tuesday
