96. Eula Mae Hayley took hold of God's hand and walked home with him on August 17, 2017.

Born April 30, 1921, the only child of Eula E. Clark and Charles P. "Joe" Redmon, Eula Mae graduated with a Masters Degree from the University of Louisville. She taught 30 years in the Jefferson County School System, spending the majority of her career at Emmet Field Elementary and later at Breckinridge Elementary. She was predeceased by her parents, her first husband Archie E Merriam Jr., second husband Raymond A Begley, third husband Robert L Hayley and beloved daughter Jeannine Merriam Ditsler.

Eula Mae wished to be remembered for her love of life, including family, church, music, and travel. She attended Crescent Hill Baptist Church with her young family, and later attended Walnut Street Baptist and First Baptist Church of Middletown.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children and step-children: Stephen E. Merriam (Jessica), Dixie Merriam Hornstein (Bruce), Nanette Merriam Ditsler (Gerald), son-in-law Charles S. Ditsler (Jeannine), John P. Begley (Kay), Martin Begley (Camille), William Bassinger (Melanie), and Julie Katzman (Tom); as well as 14 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.

The family wishes to thank Belmont Village, her home for the last eight years, and Hosparus Health, for their compassionate care; and requests that expressions of sympathy be sent to Hosparus Health, 3532 Ephraim McDowell Drive, Louisville KY 40205-9890.

A viewing will take place Sunday, August 20th at Pearson's Funeral Home, 149 Breckenridge Lane.Visitors are invited to come between 1 and 4 PM. The funeral service will he held at Pearson's on Monday, August 21st, at 10 AM with interment to follow at Cave Hill Cemetery.
