Spencer, Harvey Elmer,

90 of Clarksville, IN passed away with courage and grace on January 11, 2018 at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany. He was born on November 8, 1927 in Louisville, KY to Elmer Preston and Kathryn Bower Spencer.

Mr. Spencer was a member of the Howard Park Christian Church in Clarksville, IN, a Naval Veteran of WWII, and participated with Admiral Byrd in Operation High Jump.

His survivors include his daughters Kathy Harris of Sellersburg, IN, Patty Wright (Ronnie) of Mulberry, IN, and Sandra Trimble of Clarksville, IN; grandchildren: Jeff Harris (Pamela), Jennifer Hester (Ryan), Jeremy Wright (Lisa), Joshua Wright (Christina), Jacob Trimble (Levi), and Jessica Trimble; great grandchildren: Justin, Alexia, Zachary, Peyton, Alex, Austin, Wren, Riley, Piper, Lily, and Iris; and his special friend Sue Webb.

Harvey was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 43 years Jennie Abbott Spencer, brother Donald Spencer, sister Elma Lindsey, and his son- in-law David Harris and Dale Lyttle.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday January 16, 2018 at 1:00pm at Old Salem United Methodist Church in Charlestown with burial to follow in Old Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday January 15, 2018 from 3:00-8:00pm at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown, and on Tuesday beginning at 10:00am at the church.
