Henry T. "Hank" Radican Obituary
Henry T. "Hank" Radican

Louisville - Henry T. " Hank" Radican, 86, of Louisville, passed away peacefully, at home with his family, early Monday morning, June 11, 2018.

Henry was born in Elyria, Ohio to Patrick and Virginia Radican on October 21, 1931. He attended Loyola High School in Montreal and graduated from Elyria High School in his hometown. Hank attended both the University of Dayton and Kent State before joining the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He served with the VII Corps Jayhawks from 1952-54.

Hank enjoyed a 40-year-plus career as a sales representative. He met his wife Joann in Detroit, MI, where they married in 1957. They moved to Cincinnati, OH when he joined Elyria's Ridgid Tool Co. He moved his family to Louisville in 1960 when he became Ridgid's regional sales rep for KY, TN, and WV. Here, Hank and Joann raised their three daughters and soon came to feel that Louisville was Home, but in his heart he always remained a Buckeye!

Henry was a long-time member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, where he served as a "professional" usher every Sunday for many years. He was a founding member of Hurstbourne Country Club and a proud member of The Ancient Order of Hibernians. To him, St. Patrick's Day was really a National Holiday!

In his leisure time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing trips on Lake Erie and in Canada. Vacations to Ft. Myers Beach, FL with family and friends, as well as church picnics, bowling, golf, and watching Ohio State Football, were always great times for Hank. But above all, Henry lived to tell a good story to anyone who would listen… and he did it well. He was blessed with the gift of gab — a son of the auld Sod who truly was full of the "Blarney!"

Henry was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Joann; parents Patrick A. and Virginia S. Radican; sister Nancy R. Landig; and brother John Radican. He is survived by his daughters Colette G. Crawford (Fred), Jennifer J. Radican, and Julie R. Radican; grandson, Nicholas W. Crawford (Bay area, CA); sister, Patricia R. Ford (Phoenix, AZ); sister-in-law, Mary S. DeCender (Detroit, MI); and a host of beloved nieces and nephews.

Henry, may your Irish eyes forever keep smiling. We love you dad. Slán go fóill!

Visitation will be held 2-8 P.M. Friday, June 15 at Highlands Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 A.M. on Saturday, June 16 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church with burial to follow at Cave Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please feel free to make donations to your .
