MARTIN, HOMER B., M.D., 82, of Louisville, died Tuesday, March 6, 2007 at Jewish Hospital. Dr. Martin retired after serving more than 30 years in his private Psychoanalytic practice. He was a member of the Greater Louisville Medical Society, Kentucky Medical Society, American Psychiatric Association, Southern Medical Association, taught on the volunteer staff at the University of Louisville School of Medicine as a lecturer in Family Practice in the Department of Medicine and was director of the section on General Practice for several years. After specialization he was appointed Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, and was a former director of the Louisville Department of Health. Dr. Martin was also a Navy veteran of World War II. Dr. Martin is survived by his loving wife Jane; daughters, Lyn Kennedy of Lexington and Janet Ann Tackach of Scottsville; sons, Dr. Patrick Martin of Wilmington, NC, and Mark Martin of Floyds Knobs, IN; stepchildren, Mark Roberts of Ocala, FL, Terri Roberts Whiteeagle and Wesley Roberts; a brother, Dr. Roy A. Martin of Greer, SC; 15 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Broadway Baptist Church, 4000 Brownsboro Road, with burial to follow in Floydsburg Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. on Friday at Pearson's, 149 Breckenridge Lane.
