Drury, James Buford,

81, of Louisville passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, August 17, 2017.

Born in Manton, Kentucky, James was part of a loving family of 5 children born to William and Mary Riggs Drury. James was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Henry.

James is survived by his devoted wife of nearly 60 years, Barbara Jean Drury (Cecil), four loving children Jim Drury (Anita), Tony Drury (Kim), Jean Belvoix (Paul), and Caroline O'Neil (Todd) as well as six grandchildren: Zachary, Danielle, Mark, Alyssa, Savannah, and Kaylin. James is also survived by his sister Nonie Fisher and brothers Bertie and Bill.

James attended Manton School in Washington County and moved to Louisville in 1955 to start his own concrete business. He created a thriving business that completed concrete projects in notable subdivisions throughout Kentucky. He expanded into home building in 1986 and built homes for the next 20 years.

In addition to being a devoted husband and father, James was a 50 year parishioner of St. Athanasius Church. James enjoyed golf, archery, and weekends at his farm hunting, fishing and being outdoors.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 21, 2017 from 2-8pm at Ratterman and Sons, 3800 Bardstown Road. His funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at 10 am at St. Athanasius Church, 5915 Outer Loop Drive, with entombment to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
