John Lyle Obituary
Lyle, John,

left this world on August 31st at Baptist Health Louisville surrounded by his family.

Born April 15, 1936, to Cecil Lang and Janet Taylor (Glegg) Lyle in Larbert, Scotland.

As a young man, he enjoyed hiking in the Scottish Highlands and developed a life-long love of nature.

He met Judith Gardner at a local dance and got her the job as the infirmary nurse at Carron Company where he worked in the foundry.

They married on April 27th, 1963 in Edinburgh. A job opportunity took them to West Hartlepool England and there they had their first child Raymond in 1964.

With only $600 to their name and a promise of one year of work, John moved his young family to Easton, Pennsylvania in 1965.

Their second child Kimberly was born in 1966, and then after moving to Louisville in 1968, they had their 3rd child Debra.

In Louisville, John started his own chemical company, Bluegrass Chemical Specialties Inc, in 1969, and grew it into a successful business, selling it in 1985.

Forth Industries, named after the Forth River Scotland, was John's next business venture that became even more successful and continues on today in Louisville, Ky.

His business ventures provided many jobs for his own family members and as well as many other families.

He brought his sister, Myra, her husband, Stuart and his mother, Janet to the States and provided a home and work for them.

Everyone who knew John knew that he was generous to a fault and gave to anyone in need. Countless individuals have been the beneficiaries of his kindness and philanthropy.

John was a world-traveler and accumulated a wealth of knowledge covering world history, geology, sciences, cultures, and politics.

Judy, his wife and traveling companion of 54 years, helped plan, navigate, and document their adventures together.

He is survived by his wife Judith Lyle, children Raymond (Sheri) Lyle, Kimberly (Monte) Rommelman and Debra (David) Fedders, grandchildren Carly, Max and Luke Lyle, Lyle, Marcus and Hunter Rommelman, and Taylor and Madison Fedders, sister Myra (Stuart) Gorrie.

A private memorial service was held at his son's home in Prospect, Kentucky for family members.

Pearson's entrusted with local arrangements.
