Kenneth Wayne Martin Obituary
Martin, Kenneth Wayne,

67, passed away September 28, 2017 at Norton Hospital.

Kenneth (Kenney) was born in Louisville Kentucky in his family home. He was a jack of all trades working at a variety of careers ranging from truck driving, marketing, comedy writing to published poet. He was funny , irreverent and would take a stand for what he believed. He was also kind, soft hearted and loving to those who knew him. He had the knack for making everyone feel included and important. His jokes were constant and reflected his slightly twisted view of the world and human behavior. He was smart, talented and surprisingly shy. He was the best friend and supporter of his wife of 39 years, Dr. Vicki Hines-Martin and the proud and loving father of his daughter, Michelle Hines Martin.

He was preceded in death by his father, Gilbert Lee Martin; mother , Lily Catherine (McCoy) Martin; brothers , Leroy Martin and Paul Martin and sister, Patricia Martin. He leaves behind his wife, daughter, sisters Barbara Kiper and Jenny Martin; and brothers Norman and Donnie Martin in addition to cousins and a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, grand- nieces and nephews and dear friends. He will always live in their memories.

Kenney did not believe in mourning his death but rather celebrating and remembering his life. A celebration of his life for friends and family will be held on October 8, 2017 at the University of Louisville, University and Alumni Club at 3 pm. Donations in memory of Kenneth Martin can be made to the Portland Neighborhood House 201 N. 25th Street, Louisville KY 40212.
