Joseph, Leroy Jr.,

93, passed away October 2, 2017.

He was a Louisville native and World War II Army veteran. He graduated from the University of Louisville (BA) and from the University of Chicago (MA). He helped many families touched by mental illness as a psychiatric social worker at Jewish Family & Children's Services, Louisville Jewish Service Agency, and for over 31 years as the founding Executive Director of Bridgehaven. He was also actively involved as a volunteer for numerous non-profit organizations over the years.

Leroy is survived by his daughter, Barbara, son-in-law, Mark; sister, Martha Frockt; nephews, Jerry Tasman (Mina), Ronnie Tasman (Marda), and David Tasman (Sheila); and niece, Phyllis Alport. He was pre-deceased by the love of his life, Lois (married 65 years), his parents and many close friends.

The family would like to thank those at Westport Place who were so caring and understanding.

A memorial service will be held noon Friday, October 6th at Herman Meyer & Son, Inc., 1338 Ellison Avenue. Visitation will begin after 11 a.m. The family would appreciate memorial contributions be made to Bridgehaven, National MS Society, or Wayside Christian Mission.
