Mary Owen Sullivan Obituary
Sullivan, Mary Owen,

born March 23, 1939 - died September 12, 2017, went to her heavenly father surrounded by her dear family and friends after ongoing illnesses.

Mary Owen graduated from Sacred Heart Academy, 1957, and received her BA in Psychology and Sociology from Wheeling University in Wheeling, WV, and her Master's degree in Clinical Psychology from Eastern Kentucky University. She went on to teach in the University of Kentucky college system.

Mary was a lifelong scholar and teacher, and always strived to be close to her god. She found great solace and comfort in the grace of the Holy Spirit, and worked diligently with others to guide and advise them, living a life of service and joy.

She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes parish. Mary enjoyed her retirement living with two lifelong friends, Judith Torvie and Karen Fischer, who passed away two years ago. Mary was happily awaiting the moment to greet Karen, and her mother and father once again in the afterlife.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Martin F. Sullivan and Patricia Hanlon Sullivan; a brother Martin F. Sullivan Jr.; and lifetime companion, Karen F. Fischer.

She is survived by her dear friend, Judy Torvie; a nephew, Michael P Sullivan; nieces, Kathy Dougherty Sparks (Joe) and Margaret Sullivan Neithammer (Jack); and cousin, Sister Miriam Corcoran. Additionally, she is survived also by Cecilia Fischer Knight (C. Bert), Peter Fischer, Susan Fischer Partin (C. Fred), Paul Fischer (Deborah), and Judith Fischer, and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
