Mary Q. Hyatt Obituary
Mary Q Hyatt

Louisville - Mary Quinker Hyatt of Louisville passed away at her home on Saturday, June 9th following a short illness. She was the loving wife for 32 years of Anthony W. Hyatt. She was also a devoted daughter, sister, aunt and friend to many.

She was the daughter of the late Robert J. and Mary Elizabeth Quinker of Louisville and the sister of Joan Q. Butler (Larry). She was preceded in death by her sister Barbara Q. Struck and brothers Robert J. Quinker II and James Gerhard Quinker. She was an aunt to six nieces and seven nephews.

She graduated from St. Raphael Catholic School and was a 1970 graduate of Assumption High School.

For more than 18 years, she worked as a clerk typist for Crawford and Company of Louisville and for more than ten years she enjoyed her work in the China and Housewares Department of the old Bacon's Home Store in St. Matthews.

Mary had a sincere honest quality and a great smile that warmed many a room when she entered. She loved to laugh and loved her family and would do anything she could to help a friend. Classmates at Assumption remember her as a quiet person with the ability to make people laugh.

She loved birds, especially humming birds. Her favorite music was the classic standards sung by frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Tony Bennett, Elvis and Diane Krall. While she loved good food, many people knew of the one thing she loved to eat was a good old fashioned Hot Brown.

Mary did not want any kind of a formal funeral service. She never wanted to people to mourn her passing, instead she asks that she be remembered as someone who enjoyed life and wanted the best for everyone in her family and everyone she called a friend.

The funeral Mass will be held at 10 am Thursday June 14, 2018 at Epiphany Catholic Church, 914 Old Harrods Creek Road. There will be a gathering of friends and family at her Hikes Point home following the mass.

Mary's family request that in lieu of flowers, donations in her name should be made to Hosparus Health of Louisville for the good work they do for others.
