Herth, Paul Douglas,

60, of Mt. Washington, passed away on Thursday, August 17, 2017 surrounded by his family after a long courageous battle with Multiple Myeloma.

Paul was a retired employee of General Electric, a member of IUE-CWA 83761, the National Rifle Association, and St. Gabriel Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by a son, Matthew Ivan Herth; a sister, Carolyn Darling; his parents, Harold and Marcella Herth; and his mother-in-law, Barbara Taylor.

Paul is survived by his wife, Joyce Herth; Two sons, Daniel (Aleah) and Adam (Lauren) Herth; Brothers, Michael (Mary) and Joseph (Marcia) Herth; Sisters, Susan Chancellor (David) and Maria Schulz (Jesse); his father-in-law, Ivan Taylor; Sister-in-law, Debbie Wilson (Dave); along with a host of nieces, nephews, and loving cousins.

Funeral mass will be celebrated 12 p.m. Tuesday at St. Gabriel Catholic Church with burial to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. Friends may visit from 12 to 8 p.m. Monday and after 9 a.m. Tuesday at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home, Mt. Washington.

His family would also like to extend their gratitude to Dr. Stevens and his team, the Norton Cancer Institute staff, and all of his caregivers on 5 East for their care and compassion.
