Paul E. Youngs, M.D.

Clarksville - Paul E. Youngs, M.D. 82, of Clarksville, Indiana passed away Thursday at his home surrounded by his family. He was a native of Petersburg, Indiana. Dr. Youngs, a retired physician had his own family practice for over 50 years and was a member of the Floyd County Medical Society. Paul was also a member of St. Anthony's of Padua Catholic Church and former Lieutenant Commander in the United States Navy. Dr. Paul dedicated his life to others. He was a devoted husband to his wife of 43 years, adored his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and never met a stranger. He loved life and had an adventurous spirit. He had a passion for practicing medicine, golfing, flying airplanes, photography and IU basketball. Dr. Paul enjoyed being outdoors and especially loved camping, swimming and boating with his family and friends. Paul's family would like to give special thanks to Hosparus for providing compassionate care and support during this difficult time. He is preceded in death by: parents - Verl and Ruth Youngs; brothers - Darrell and David Youngs. Paul is survived by: wife - Judy E. (Lynch) Youngs; sons - Mark Youngs (Dori) and Michael Youngs (Mary); daughters - Terry Youngs (Kenny), Tammy Cook (Donnie), Timberly McKinley (Jeff), Traci Dykes (Coba), Nikki Youngs (Robby), Patty Belden (Jonathan); brothers - Robin Youngs; sisters - Ellen Hobbs, Eleanor Toby; 20 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Visitation: 12 - 8 pm Sunday at the Market Street Chapel of Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Homes. Funeral: 10 am Monday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Clarksville, Indiana. Interment: Private at St. John's Starlight Catholic Cemetery. The family has requested donations to be made in Paul's honor to Hosparus of Southern Indiana and/or St. Anthony's Catholic School.
