Hardin, Pierce A.,

80, returned to his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at his home with his loving wife by his side. His final days were spent surrounded by his family he loved and adored.

Pierce was born in Springfield, KY to the late William and Iva Rae Durr Hardin. He was a long-distance truck driver for 50 years. Early in his working career, Pierce served as a funeral director and embalmer for Ratterman and Sons on Bardstown Road.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Ronnie, and siblings; Bill, Leon, Gene, Edith and Joe.

Pierce will be remembered as a loving husband, devoted father and doting "WaWa" to his grandsons. He leaves to cherish his memory, his beautiful wife of 45 years, Jo Ann Jackson Hardin; loving daughters, Joelle Richards (David) and Kristen Omohundro (Mike); and the greatest joys of his life, his three grandsons, Jacob, Ethan and Austin Richards.

Visitation will be Monday, September 4th from 2-8 p.m. and Tuesday, September 5th from 11am with funeral service at 1pm at Ratterman and Sons, 3800 Bardstown Rd., followed by burial at Resthaven Cemetery.
