passed away peacefully on Sunday September 24, 2017 at Nazareth Home.

Robert "Bob" Lee Brinly was born on Jan. 11, 1927. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Frankie May Brinly; his wife of 60 years, Wanda Lee Horton Brinly; and brothers, Hardy Brinly and Charles "Chuck" Brinly.

Bob is survived by his sister, Dot Bringer; seven daughters, Bonnie Brinly, Barbara Wientjes, Betty Brinly, Belinda Rhodes (Carl), Beverly Peterson (Steve), Bonita Brinly, Beth Brinly; 12 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

During his career Bob worked at the Ford Motor Plant on Fern Valley Road. Bob was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army; and a recipient of the Asiatic Pacific Service Medal, Victory Medal, Meritorious Unit Award, Army of Occupation Japan. Bob graduated from Male H.S. and the University of Louisville. He was an avid golfer, reader and bridge player. He loved working his daily crossword puzzle. He read the paper cover to cover every day and enjoyed discussing current affairs. Bob was a man of integrity and faith, cherishing and honoring his wife and daughters throughout his life.

Bob has chosen to donate his body to The University of Louisville School of Medicine.

His Celebration of Life will be held 5:30 - 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at Audubon Country Club, 3265 Robin Road, Louisville, KY 40213.
