Sharon Shaw-Dyer Obituary
Shaw-Dyer, Sharon,

passed away Saturday September 30, 2017 at the age of 58. She was born October 24, 1958 in Longview, Texas.

Sharon held onto life and all of its fullness and left as one of the strongest and bravest women known to her family and friends. Sharon was a warrior. A prayer warrior and a warrior in her battle against cancer. She fought for everything and everyone she believed in with everything she had, literally. She was a beautiful warrior. In her earlier years she modeled and each photo in her shoot was more breathtaking than the next. She was also very bright. She was a graduate of UofL Law School and had the opportunity to work in Washington for Vice President Bush during Ronald Reagan's administration.

She was caring and compassionate and had great passion for life. She loved deeply and her children were her absolute pride and joy. She loved the Lord and dedicated her life to Jesus Christ in 1987.

She enjoyed sports and even played powder puff football for the Ballard Bruins in high school (where she did break her arm in the first game and tried to play through it). Sharon was an avid UL fan (in spite of graduating from UK for under graduate). She planned to attend Vanderbilt University after her freshman year at UK but she met the love of her life, Bob Dyer, and her life changed forever. They dated for 12 years before marrying in 1987 and would have been celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary this month.

Her favorite band was Fleetwood Mac and for many years it was not uncommon to see Sharon in flowing sleeved shirts in Stevie Nicks fashion.

Sharon was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 32 and has been fighting that battle ever since. But for anyone who knew her, she never looked like a typical cancer patient, even concealing it to most people unless they had a reason to know. If she left the house, no matter how bad she felt, she was dressed to a T, with her heels and makeup on, and looked better than most everyone else in the room.

Her life-long friend said it best, "Sharon was the finest human being that I have ever known, my very best friend, a beautiful daughter, a supportive sister and a truly loving wife and mother. She endured more than any one person should ever have to endure."

Sharon was a warrior, a warrior that fought with grace and dignity, a warrior that woke up every day with the strength to fight another day through her life of devotion to God and Jesus Christ. She fought until she could fight no more. Now, Sharon is in Heaven. Our warrior is now an angel. Her strength and resolve are a testament to us all.

Sharon is survived by her loving husband; Bob Dyer, one son; Cameron Christian Dyer, a daughter; Mikayela Grace Dyer, one brother; Bobbie Shaw (Peggy Lynn), and a sister; Michelle Shaw (Brian Doyle), her mother; Mary Frances Shaw, father; Robert Shaw, and her dog (that is supposed to be a Maltese but a Chihuahua got in the way we believe) named Issa.

A celebration of Sharon's life will be held at Noon on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at Arch L. Heady & Son at Westport Village, 7410 Westport Road Louisville, KY. Visitation will be on Friday, October 6, 2017 from 2-8 at the funeral home.
