Teresa A. "Terri" Blessinger M.D. Obituary
Blessinger, Teresa "Terri" A., M.D.,

62, was called home to God on Friday September 8, 2017, after a short but courageous battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis H. Blessinger MD and Joyce Lowe Blessinger.

Terri was born on March 22, 1955 and raised in Corydon, Indiana. She attended Corydon Central High School. She spent a large part of her early life on the family Angus cattle farm where as a member of 4H she showed cattle and developed her love for all animals large and small.

Terri attended Indiana University Southeast where she graduated with honors with a degree in biology. She went on to attend Indiana University Medical School where she also did her residency in anesthesia. She practiced medicine first at Methodist Hospital in Louisville as a partner in the Bradley Summay Anesthesia Group and then at Baptist Hospital East also in Louisville as a member of the Williams and Wagner Anesthesia Group. She was known as a dedicated, caring, and empathetic doctor who put the needs of her patients first above all other things.

Terri was an Indiana University sports fan following the IU football and basketball teams and was a member of the alumni association. She loved all things outdoors and was an avid golfer and gardener. Terri was a gourmet cook who found some of her greatest joy cooking for and entertaining family and friends. She loved dining out and trying new dishes at Louisville's local restaurants and in her travels.

She leaves behind a large group of friends, countless patients with positive medical outcomes in part due to her skills and experience, associates and friends from the medical community in Louisville, and her husband of thirty years Mark Holloway. She will be greatly missed by many.

Memorial Service will be 7 PM Tuesday at Pearson's 149 Breckenridge Lane. Visitation will be from 11AM - 2PM and 4 PM - 7PM Tuesday. Private burial in Cave Hill Cemetery.

Expressions of sympathy can be made through donations to the Indiana University Medical School Scholarship Fund or to the Colon Cancer Prevention Project.
