Willard "Will" Bayes Obituary
Bayes, Willard (Will),

passed away at his Bardstown home, surrounded by family on September 15, 2017.

He was born in Ashland, KY, the son of the late Elmer & Bonnie Bayes. Besides surviving his parents, he also had a daughter, Sharon, who predeceased him, as well as his dog, Toby.

As a talented athlete, he was a star Tomcat footfall and baseball player for Blazer High School, formerly Ashland High School. He played virtually every sport and excelled in football, baseball, and golf.

As a proud American patriot, he served in the Air Force and was on active duty in Korea.

As a profession, he devoted twenty years as an outstanding Air Traffic Contoller for the Federal Aviation Agency. He was once recognized by President Kennedy for his outstanding performance while assisting in an emergency landing. After retiring from Air Traffic Control, he turned his love for golf into a second career, earning a Professional Golf Association (PGA) card and working at The Daytona Beach County Club. After retiring as a Pro, he played in senior tournaments.

This giant of a man peacefully left this earth, surrounded by loving family to enter Heaven. He left behind his wife Betty Bayes, three daughters: Vicki Bayes Smith, Cindy Bayes, Rebecca Duecker (Ron), and two grandchildren, Gabe & Jenna whom he loved very much.

A celebration of his life will be planned at a later time."
