William (Billy) Fihe Obituary
William (Billy) Fihe

Louisville - Passed away on June 10, 2018 at the age of 81 after a long illness. Billy was born in 1937 the year of the 'Great Flood'. He is the son of late Bernard and Cathern (Kelly) Fihe. Billy was employed for 48 years at Southern Graphics/Gravier. As a young boy Billy was a member of St Martin of Tours catholic church where he graciously served as an alter boy. Billy always loved the church and his faith. Later, Billy became a member of St.Leonards church. Billy's faith as a devoted catholic helped him thru his long illness. Billy faithfully watched the Mass on the Air. Billy LOVED, LOVED, LOVED his University of Louisville women's basketball team. He was a seasons ticket holder and a volunteer during the games. Billy was a home net work shopping guru! Billy said, "I have several of everything sold on T.V because I had to have the latest version." (He never opened the boxes. LOL.) Billy had a passion for reading, golfing, playing pool and darts. During his illness he took pride in feeding his beautiful hummingbirds who he called, his babies. Anyone who had the honor of knowing Billy, knew he was a fashionista and took great pride in his style of dress and jewelry.

Billy was the youngest of 8 siblings, who all predeceased him. He would not have it any other way, the last to be born and the last to pass away. Billy is survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. A special thank you to St Mary's 3rd floor, & ICU, nurses and doctors. Another special thank you to the St. Mary volunteer chaplain service. Thank you to my neighbors who were concerned about me and assisted me up the stairs and called to check on me. I want to thank my beloved niece and caregiver for her love, compassion, and devotion during the years and especially during my illness. "Thank you little bit." A special thank you for a dear friend who I miss, you know who you are.

Billy served in the U.S. Army stationed in Korea 1955-1957. Billy attended St Xavier high school before volunteering for the draft and then finishing his education by graduating from Ahrens high school at the age of 28.
