William Ronald Carpenter
Brooks - Mr. William Ronald Carpenter, age 68, of Brooks, KY, returned to his Heavenly Father on Sunday, April 25, 2021. Mr. Carpenter was born in Evansville, IN on November 28, 1952 to the late Billy G. Carpenter and Hilda M. Carpenter. He graduated from Iroquois High School and attended Eastern Kentucky University. Will was the Senior Resident Manager of the Beacon House of Louisville and a member of Alcoholics Anonymous. Helping other men to achieve sobriety and serenity was his life passion and his career. "Willie" loved his life in the South End of Louisville, and enjoyed many happy hours playing golf with friends at "The Q", Iroquois Park Golf Course.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Sharon Bodnar Carpenter; children, Whitney Carpenter (Dan Mahony), Alexander Carpenter (Shelby Vincent), and Connor Carpenter (Jacqueline Rock); stepchildren, Lane Abraben (Christine), Lindsay Teeters (Steven) and Logan Abraben; grandchildren, Atticus, Stella, and Mia Carpenter, and Steven Teeters, III; sister, Brenda K. Parson, special friends Phyllis Reed Richardson, Russell Read, and Jamie Sherrill, and a host of other dear family and beloved friends.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Will's incredible health care team including Dr. Adam Rojan, Dr. Phil Johnson, the Brown Cancer Center, and the Bullitt County Hosparus Group. A wealth of gratitude goes out to all friends and family who supported Will in so many ways throughout the past year and a half of his life. He loved and appreciated all of you.
Memorial service will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, May 22, 2021 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) Visitors may pay their respects on Friday, May 21, 2021 from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Saturday from 11:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Beacon House of Louisville.

Will, you gave so much of your time, effort, and heart to so many in your latter years. Redemption is a beautiful thing, and you left quite a legacy to everyone who knew you.
