GOFF, WILLIAM JAMES, 86, passed away Monday, February 17, 2009. He was born September 26, 1922 in Rockford, IL to William James Romanzo Charles George Henry Goff of Rockford, IL, and Helen Arvilla Craig, a native of Grayson Co., KY. After graduating from Arsenal Technical High School (Indianapolis, IN). He served in the Army's 84th Infantry Division, Company 333 Service, during the European campaign of World War II including the Battle of the Bulge (Belgium, France and Germany). He married Marian Louise Goff of Hardin Co., KY in November 1951. Following the war, he graduated from the University of Louisville's School of Business and pursued a 40+ year career as an Insurance Claims Adjuster. He was also active in the Boy Scouts with Troop 34, as a Scout Master for many years and was a member of Crescent Hill Baptist Church where he served as a Trustee and President of his Sunday School class. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Edna Gandolf; brother; Chester Goff; and granddaughter, Rebecka Walker. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Marian Louise; children, Kathy M. Goff, William Barry Goff and Phillip C. Goff (Lisa); and six grandchildren. A service to celebrate William James Goff's life will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Arch L. Heady-Cralle Funeral Home, 2428 Frankfort Avenue, with interment at 2 p.m. at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central, Radcliff, KY. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, expressions are requested to memorial fund of Crescent Hill Baptist Church.
