Melissa Lynne Long died on August 4, 2017 in an automobile accident. She was 22 years old. Melissa was born in Bethesda, Maryland and grew up in Gaithersburg, MD. She lived in South Carolina briefly before moving to Katy, TX in 2010. She graduated from Katy High School and Houston Baptist University and was currently in graduate school to earn her Library Science degree. She worked at Katy Library because she loved books, loved to read, and loved history.
Melissa was full of life and energy and always saw the good in everyone she knew. She loved the Lord, was a leader of middle school girls in her church youth ministry and led two book clubs for adults. She filled her life with family, friends, volunteering for events, visiting new places and enriching her mind with new experiences every day.
Melissa will always be remembered by her parents, John and Denise, her sister, Rachel, and her brother, Bradley; as well as all of her extended family.
A service to celebrate her life was held on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 in Katy, Texas.
