Helen Neofotistos
of Tyngsborough; formerly of Dracut
TYNGSBOROUGH - Helen (Demetroulis) Neofotistos, age 92, passed away on Thursday, March 1, 2018, at D'Youville Senior Care in Lowell, after an extended illness. She was the wife of the late Constantine "Charles" Neofotistos who passed away in 2006.
She was born in Boston, on March 10, 1925, a daughter of the late James and Bessie (Angelopoulos) Demetroulis. Helen was a resident of Tyngsborough and was formerly of Dracut where she resided for many years.
Earlier in her career, she was employed as a technician at Sanders Associates. Helen later went on to be the owner and operator, along with her husband, of Starlight Liquors in Dracut for many years and was also a licensed real estate broker. Upon their retirement in 1989, Helen and Charles relocated to Hudson, FL, where they resided for several years before moving to Tyngsborough.
Helen was a lifelong member of the Hellenic Orthodox Church of the Holy Trinity in Lowell, where she was a member of the church choir, the Philoptochos Society and the Daughters of Penelope.
She is survived by her four children Peter Neofotistos and his companion, Pam Gallagher of Dracut, MA; Anna Hatzipetros and her husband Paul of Greece; James Neofotistos and his wife, Lorraine of Tyngsborough and Vanessa Barrett and her husband, Chip of Westford; eight grandchildren Anthony, Angelo, Christopher, Jessica, Ciji, Michaela, Kosta and Alana; three great-grandchildren; two brothers-in-law Steve Neofotistos and his wife, Angela and Christopher Neofotistos and his wife, Aphrodite all of Dracut; sister-in-law, Georgia Neofotistos of Dracut; also many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Louis Demetroulis.
NEOFOTISTOS - Family and friends may gather to honor and remember Helen at the J. A. HEALY SONS FUNERAL HOME, 57 N. Main St., WESTFORD, on Wednesday, March 7, 2018, from 10am to 12pm. A Prayer Service will take place at the Funeral Home at 12 o'clock, followed by interment at Westlawn Cemetery, Lowell. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association at www.Alz.org or The Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church.
