Nelson- Arthur Tuxford of Scituate, April 23, 2005 age 82. Husband of the late Gloria (Anson). Loving father of Mark Tuxford Nelson and his wife Inge of Jericho, VT, and Roberta Nelson Shea and her husband Edmund of Marshfield Hills. Devoted brother of Grace Vivian Nelson of Piscataway, NJ. Beloved grandfather of Erin and Timothy Shea, and “Opa” to Verena Nelson. Also survived by sister in-law Winifred Eisner of New City, NJ. A Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 26 at the First Parish U.U. Church, Scituate at 2 PM. Burial in MA National Cemetery, Bourne on Wed, April 27 at 10 AM. Obituary- Arthur Tuxford Nelson, 82, of Scituate Massachusetts, a retired Technical Writer, died suddenly at MA General Hospital, Boston. Mr. Nelson lived most of his life in Central and Northern New Jersey. He was graduated from the University of Michigan with a BS in Chemistry and an MBA. He was employed as a Technical Writer by Union Carbide (Dow). He was in the Amphibious Forces of the US Navy during World War II. He was a member of the American Chemical Society. After retiring, he moved to Scituate in 1989 to be closer to family. He enjoyed his family, friends, philosophical discussions, and volunteered as a reader for the blind for the Talking Information Center (TIC) in Marhsfield, where he read for the blind over the radio. He was married to Gloria Anson, now deceased. She was an Art Teacher in New Jersey and New York. He enjoyed singing and belonged to several local church choirs and singing groups.
