formerly of Lawrence, MA; 74

Arthur Anthony Hennessey, Jr., 74, a resident of Chatham, MA and formerly of Lawrence, MA, passed away on Monday, May 14, 2018 at the Veteran's Administration Hospital in West Roxbury, MA.

Born in Lawrence, MA, Arthur was educated in the Lawrence Schools and was a graduate of Lawrence High School. He went on to graduate from Boston College with his Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. Arthur was one of the Founders and C.F.O. of American Capital Energy in Lawrence. He was a United States Air Force Veteran having served in Vietnam and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He was an avid golfer and was a member of the Indian Ridge Country Club. Arthur enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.

The son of the late Arthur Anthony and Mary (Aughtigan) Hennessey, members of Arthur's family include his children: Arthur Hennessey, III and his wife Amanda (Good) Hennessey of Somerville, MA, Rita Pease and her husband Greg of Scituate, MA, Roberta Vincent and her husband Brian of Marlboro, MA, and Nicholas Hennessey and his wife Rebecca of Chelmsford, MA. Arthur is also survived by his sister Peggy Brady Martin of Lawrence, MA, and his brother Brian Hennessey and his wife Ellen of New Rochelle, NY, his grandchildren: Maggie Pease, Grace Vincent, Kevin Hennessey and Elizabeth Hennessey as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.

HENNESSEY - A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 9:00 A.M. in St. Patrick's Church, 118 South Broadway, Lawrence, MA. Burial will take place in the Bourne National Cemetery at a later date. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday, May 18, 2018 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 122 Amesbury St., Lawrence, MA.
