LOWELL - Theodore M. "Ted" Decker, the beloved husband of Ann M. (Kenney) Decker, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 9, 2018 at the Sunny Acres Nursing Home. He was 90 years old.

Ted was born in Lowell on September 24, 1927, a son of the late L. Lambert and Delia (Cahill) Decker. He was educated in the Lowell Schools and was a graduate of the Bartlett School, Lowell High School, and Lowell Commercial College. He also completed training at the Boston Real Estate School. Ted was an Army Veteran of WWII, serving in the Pacific Theater with General MacArthur.

Returning home from the war, Ted worked at the Union National Bank while he attended college. Ted met the love of his life, Ann Kenney, and they married on September 15, 1951. Together they celebrated 67 years of marriage.

Ted traveled to several states as the lead singer of the Chris Powers Orchestra. Ted was very active in local Music Circles and entertained at several private parties and functions. He also provided musical entertainment at local nursing homes and assisted living facilities. He was a member of "The Comeback Kids" at the Chelmsford Senior Center. Ted held membership in the Lowell Musician's Union, as well as the Chelmsford Lodge of Elks #2310 and the Ancient Order of Hibernians.

Over the years, Ted provided countless hours of entertainment and humor. As a lover of movies for decades, one of his proudest moments was being cast in the movie "School Ties" in 1992.

He was employed for over 36 years with New England Telephone and Telegraph, retiring from Verizon in 1989.

Surviving Ted are his wife of 67 years, Ann M. Decker; his children, Martha Clark and her husband William of Groton and Theodore M.
