She earned a Bachelor's Degree in Art from Brown University in 1986, followed by a Master of Fine Arts degree from the State University of New York in Albany.

In 1989 she moved to Greenpoint, Brooklyn, NY, which became her home. By 1993, her art work was chosen to be exhibited at the Venice Biennale, and soon after, here at prestigious art schools and colleges.
